Where's Art: Beaches, Barns and Beyond

Art pops up in unconventional spaces this week. The Park Point Art Fair, which has been on hiatus for the past few years, is open from 10am-5pm on June 25th and 26th. A mere stone's-throw from the beach you'll find local and regional artists presenting a wide variety of mediums and a willingness to engage with patrons about their process.

A barn in Wrenshall plays host to the Free Range Film Festival on June 24th and June 25th. Artists include Kathy McTavish and Moira Villiard, who both translate their visual art skills to the film medium, and Mylissa Fitzsimmons whose work highlights the vistas of Iceland.

There are a few chances to get to the galleries as well. Tara Austin hosts an art talk at Joseph Nease Gallery on June 23rd from 5-7pm and Doug Cameron will be at Two Loons Gallery from 11am-2pm on June 25th speaking on behalf of the late John Peyton.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
