Where's Art: An exciting start to June

The exhibit Indigenous featuring 30 large-scale paintings by Shaun Chosa has its opening at the Robert Powless Cultural Center at AICHO this Friday (June 10) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. From then on, the exhibit will be on display from through September 16, on Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Lyric Opera of the North (LOON) returns to the with their production of Hansel and Gretel, composed by nineteenth-century composer Engelbert Humperdinck with libretto by Adelheid Humperdinck Wette. The performances are at UMD’s Marshall Performing Arts Center this Friday, June 10, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 12 at 3:00 p.m. Artist Ann Gumpper is the scenic designer and painter.

Congratulations to artist Shawna Gilmore who was the winner of this year’s People's Choice Award at the DAI’s Annual Member Show for the charcoal and acrylic painting, “Nicholas Needs a Moment.” The Annual Member Show will be on view in the Depot Great Hall until June 26.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
