Where's Art: Art of Migration and Where We're From

Christopher Harrison's Contemporary Visions opens today at the Duluth Art Institute's Steffl Gallery and runs through September 5. This exhibit showcases Harrison's exploration and adaptation of Jacob Lawrence's 60-panel tempera paintings known as The Great Migration" that chronicle the exodus of southern African Americans to the North. A reception and artist talk with Harrison will be held on May 26 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.

The Places We’re From, a family workshop with Julie Boada that explores the use of paper theater (also called "toy theater") is happening May 21 from Noon to 3 p.m. at the Duluth Art Institute Lincoln Park Building.

The Two Loons Gallery is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a grand re-opening and redesigned space on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
