The big news? For the first time in a long time, we might be experiencing a month with below average temperatures. After a 2024 in which all twelve months were above average, January is primed to be a cold one. With a week to go, this month is currently averaging six degrees colder than usual.

As the birds go, Larry's still spotting the "Same Seven" and a few outliers. The headline avion news is still the owls. A wide variety of the raptor have congregated in the Northland looking for food.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
