There are many reasons why it can be tricky to ride a bike in Duluth, but Zeitgeist Arts and Bike MN are here to make sure knowing how to ride isn't one of them. That's right, free bike lessons for adults.
"There is a proportion of the population who never learned to ride a bike," says Andrea Crouse, the Community Development Manager for Zeitgeist. That's why Zeitgeist is partnering with Bike MN to offer free, inclusive, learn-to-ride courses for people 16 and older, no experience needed. By the end of a three-night session, riders are able to bike in a group together, and after the session they can leave with a bike, lock, light and helmet for free.
Community members can sign up on the Zeitgeist website or Facebook Page. The lessons will happen September 25, October 2, and October 9. There will also be a "Doc and Talk" event Thursday, September 26. These events are part of Zeitgeist's transportation equity "We Bike" series.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning. This edition of Community Connection is made possible in part by Lakewalk Surgery Center.
