Art and baseball are two words seldom heard together, but on September 5th at 6:30 PM, an audience of die-hard theater fans and curious townsfolk will gather at Wade Stadium to celebrate the fourth annual Season Splash performing arts event.
The Season Splash event originated in August of 2021 as a celebration for artists to gather together again as communities emerged from isolation. "We can't really do this inside the theater... but how about a baseball stadium? Because of course that's the next logical step, right?... for artists to gather in a baseball stadium," said local theater artist Chani Ninneman.
The Season Splash is a free event that supports non-profit performing arts organizations in the area. This year, the audience can enjoy brief performances from Borealis Chamber Artists, Wise Fool Theater, the Lake Superior Youth Chorus, Lyric Opera of the North, Duluth Playhouse, and more.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
