This Duluth singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has performed in a wide variety of bands as a supporting player through the years. Just recently he started focusing more on his own songwriting, and the result is his first solo album, Time is Short. Sackett joined us in the studio on May 31, 2024 to talk about making the new album, which features just him and his guitar; he had a release show scheduled the same night at Blacklist Brewing in Duluth. Sackett talked about growing up and playing music in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, alongside Eric Pollard (Actual Wolf) and Tim Saxhaug (Trampled by Turtles); the three performed in bands, including the Dukes of Hubbard together. Sackett also talked about what drove him to get more serious about his own songwriting.
