A Bikeways Plan: Making Biking Safer for All Ages and Abilities

Duluth - Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council

The MIC (Metropolitan Interstate Council) has been putting together a long-term Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Bikeways Plan - a system of safe, coordinated, on-street bike routes to support bicycling as a transportation option for people of all ages and abilities.

Bicyclists and other interested community members attended an open house at Zeitgeist last night to both view and offer input on the latest developments and mapsof the proposed bikeway system.

Ruurd (Rudy) Schoolderman, a board member of the Duluth Bike Coalition, talks with KUMD about the outcome of the open house, and the ongoing need for safer and more accessible community-wide bike routes for commuting and transportation, not just for recreation.

This event is part of Zeitgeist's Winter Bike Week, happening all this week in the Twin Ports.
