One of Larry Weber's favorite things about August is the silence. Even though birds haven't alighted for southern climes just yet, most of them are done singing. This makes for peacefully quiet mornings in a month that has a lot of highlights. Summer wildflowers are at a peak, the morning mist is accentuating the spider webs, and there are insects flitting about, all adding to the late summer vibe.
