Though February is generally considered a dry month for the Northland, this year it has been anything but. Naturalist Larry Weber predicts that snow will continue to fall as temperatures drop down through the end of the month.

Critters are becoming more abundant as well, especially those of the avian variety. Owls are irrupting down from the North this winter. Finches are arriving regularly to the birdfeeder. Also of note are the squirrels and rabbits that are just beginning their mating season.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
