Backyard Almanac: November Sampler

November displayed its diversity this week with some sunshine, a bit of snow, and a good hard rain.

On the precipitation front, November's first three weeks have already outpaced all of September and October put together. Though the month has been without many scorching days, the bitter cold days have also been absent, resulting in a month that has thus far been eight degrees above average.

Migration continues in its late stages with birds both large and small appearing around the Northland. Larry Weber has been keeping a close eye on a beaver that has been piling up sticks on its cache in preparation for the winter. And if they're not here yet, the mice will be showing up soon to our indoor spaces.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
