Annika Frazer and Alayna Johnson discuss their work at Keep Duluth Clean, the events they support, and their vision to move toward a cleaner city.
Partnering with Eco3, Keep Duluth Clean has been a big part in helping to clean up the Lincoln Park area of Duluth. The organization also sponsored the "Love Your Block" campaign in the past. On May 4th of this year, Keep Duluth Clean is getting help from Loll Designs and other organizations for "Clean Yer Creek."
But community events are only a small part of the mission for the organization. According to Frazer, the real impact of Keep Duluth Clean is encouraging residents to take action where they live. "Go out by yourself - just taking 15 minutes to go out where you live, work, and play to clean up your neighborhood and clean up the area you really enjoy being around."
Keep Duluth Clean encourages residents to take the spring pledge and commit to keeping a particular area near you free from litter and trash. For more info about the organization, and to take the Spring Pledge, visit their website keepduluthclean.org
You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
