Wisconsin's first statewide Stormwater Week is at its midway point today. Since Saturday, the city of Superior - along with other municipalities across Wisconsin - have been hosting events to encourage and educate about the environmental impact of stormwater.
"Stormwater is one of the leading causes to surface water pollution," says Megan Högfeldt, water resource specialist for the city of Superior. "The point of all of this is to let people know the importance of the simple tasks of picking up their litter on walks or picking up after their pets." The event is also geared toward providing resources and connecting community members.
Wisconsin Stormwater Week continues through August 13th with events and focused topics every day. More information about the rest of the week can be found online and by following the City of Superior on social media. Additional useful information can be found at Poop Fairy University.
You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
