Backyard Almanac: Awesome August is Here

August is here. What does that mean? Well, for some it means we are in the middle of the summer, as these first few days of the month are midway between the summer solstice and the fall equinox. For others, this is the first month of autumn, as it offers the first true signs of bird migration.

For Larry Weber, the eighth month is worthy of the title Awesome August. "I find it just an amazing month every year," says Weber. Between the soothing silence of the birds, two full moons, and morning web walks, there's a lot to see in nature.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
