Backyard Almanac: Closing Out July

The summer is sneaking by. With the shortage of hot days, the season seems to be covertly slipping away. The month of July will end a bit cooler than average, and it'll mark another month of drier conditions than usual.

But summer is still in the regular swing of things in many ways. Insects are out and about, the berries are beginning to ripen, and - don't look now - the first signs of leaves changing color are showing up and birds prepping for migration have begun.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
