The 3rd Annual Gender Joy Art Show is being held from May 4th to June 27th with an opening reception on Thursday, May 7th from 5-7pm. Organized by YWCA Duluth and PAVSA and exhibited in the Zeitgeist atrium and Teatro, this year’s show not only includes artwork from girls, women and gender expansive people but features survivor artwork from PAVSA's weekly Art Group, all representing how each finds joy in their gender. Event attendees will get a chance to express themselves in an interactive community art project hosted by Art of Presence and will have an opportunity to heal through collective action and see their collaborative piece evolve into a finished painting displayed for the remainder of the show. Light refreshments will be offered as well as an opportunity to learn more about YWCA Duluth and PAVSA’s work in our community. Most pieces of artwork will be available for purchase on YWCA Duluth’s website throughout the two-month show. Find more information at www.ywcaduluth.org/upcoming-events.
