The art week ahead is varied, abundant, and in some cases, feathered.

It's the third anniversary for On the Record, the community focused publication supporting arts and events. "Kristi Olson, otherwise known as That Sound Lady, has spearheaded this zine that follows arts and culture in the Northland on a weekly basis," says Annie Dugan. "It's been a really wonderful explosion of creativity." This Saturday, August 22nd at Bent Paddle, the anniversary celebration from 3-9pm will include live music and a lot of community art opportunities.

On August 21-22 at Bayfront is the Flock ArtFest. The two-day art festival organized by the DECC features lots of art and artists as well as plenty of bird-themed activities. Bird will be present to pay you a compliment, dispense advice, and even do a tarot card reading for you.

Smoke in June postponed the Whole Foods Co-op's tie-dye tote bag event, but the gathering has been rescheduled for this Friday. From noon until 2pm, at the Denfeld Co-op partons are welcome to stop by and get creative... and maybe a little messy, so dress appropriately.

You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
