Maybe you don't remember your first time on a school bus or learning what the word "transportation" means, but you learned all the same.
For many area youngsters, the Duluth Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Transportation Night (happening Wednesday, September 24th from 5:30-7pm) will be an enlightening time for getting close to unique vehicles and to learn language skills as well. "Transportation Night is really a night about talking with kids about these words," says Jen Jaros, ECFE Coordinator with Duluth Public Schools. "It's about language development."
The annual event saw a large boost in attendance last year with 600 people paying a visit, thus doubling previous numbers. "Last year we advertised like crazy," says Jaros. "We really made it clear that this is open to the public."
This year, children will have the opportunity to view, go inside, and in some cases sit in the driver's seat of various vehicles. In the back Denfeld parking lot, families will find a school bus, firetruck, the Ecto-1 (the Ghostbusters' vehicle), food trucks, and more. The North 103.3 FM van will also be there.
More information about ECFE can be found on the ISD 709 website.
