At 1333 E Superior Street in Duluth, you'll find a church built in the 1940s. Inside, you'll find over 40,000 used books. Chester Creek Books has been operating for many years, but some changes are in the works.
Tina Higgins-Wussow is taking on owner and operation duties at the bookstore. Known in part for cultivating a rich poetry community, Higgins-Wussow is updating some of the clerical operations and also looking to organize the space at Chester Creek Books to create a comfortable atmosphere to encourage gatherings.
The transition is one of necessity as the previous owner is experiencing certain health issues that had been providing challenges in continuing operations.
The bookstore is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am-4pm (until 5pm on Saturdays). More information about Chester Creek Books can be found on Facebook or through email at chestercreekbooks@gmail.com.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
