Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Kelly Florence

Kelly Florence

Kelly Florence has spent her life enamored with the supernatural. The local author has written several books on the subject, the latest of which involved road-trip-research all over the country. Though Kelly always maintained skepticism while approaching potentially paranormal situations, some recent experiences have caused that skepticism to pull an about-face.

On the less spooky side, Kelly's first album purchases were singles by some heavy hitters of the 80s. Her first concert brought her from Cherry, Minnesota to the DECC in Duluth for a solo artist who just wouldn't stay off the stage. And she caught the bug of her guilty pleasure artist during the pandemic. "It's storytelling, it's haunting, it's beautiful."
