Where's Art: Walking Sticks at the Tweed

Willie Little/Tweed Museum of Art
Willie Little Miles To Go Before I Sleep

Annie Dugan discusses the multimedia artists who are showcasing their work to the local art galleries and how these artists spread joy though paint and awareness through sculptures.

Willie Little is a multimedia artist who focuses on the barriers and social justice issues facing black Americans. The Tweed Museum of Art is including Little's walking stick collection as a part of their permanent collection this past week. "When exhibited together, they speak of barriers, fences, protection, but also adventure," says Annie Dugan.

Another multimedia artist who's exhibiting work in the Duluth area is Margie Helstrom. Helstrom specializes in the joyful, colorful dance between the paint itself and the canvas she is working on. Helstrom's work will be exhibited at the Zeitgeist on February 21.

You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
