Geographic Information Systems (GIS) isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind when one considers art. "I think it's fun to think about," says Annie Dugan. "This is a tool that we use to understand what's important to us." Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is Celebrating GIS on Wednesday, November 15th from 11am-1pm. The event will include a lunch, guests, speakers and more. "How they have implemented GIS into their education is a testament to how Fond du Lac approaches education as not being this siloed affair."

Additional events this week in the Northland include an exhibit by Naomi Christensen at the Zeitgeist atrium, Connected by a Thread by Natalija Walbridge at Duluth Pottery, and if you're looking for a daytrip, the Washburn Cultural Center is hosting work by Rabbett Strickland and Leah Yellowbird.

You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
