If you're looking for a good spot to create, Duluth MakerSpace could be the place for you. "In our shop there's a full woodshop, full metal shop, 3D printers, industrial lasers, industrial sewing, there's a craft area with framing tools and leather working tools, all sorts of variety of things," says local artist Mike Olson. Anyone interested in becoming a member of MakerSpace can schedule a tour.
In addition to providing resources for area artists and crafters, the Duluth MakerSpace is presenting the 3rd annual Agate Festival this Friday and Saturday, August 11th and 12th. Along with agates and agate creations for patrons to peruse and/or purchase, there will be live music, an agate hunt for children, and much more. The event takes place in the MakerSpace parking lot and at Ursa Minor Brewing.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
