Community Connection: A Theatrical Homecoming with Mark Armstrong

Mark Armstrong got his theatrical start on the Depot stage in Duluth. Since then, he has moved to New York City and found success as a theater director, but he's back in town for the next few weeks to work on the very stage where it all began.

Last summer, Armstrong and some local theater friends put together a stage reading of Heroes of the Fourth Turning for a small audience. This summer, it's getting the full-production treatment. "I've spent the last year trying to put together a way in which we could bring this particular play to Duluth audiences, and the chance to be the first show at the Depot Theater," says Armstrong.

Heroes of the Fourth Turning by Will Arbery was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2020. The story follows four conservatives who return to their small Catholic college one week after the 2017 violence in Charlottesville, VA. The play opens August 17th and runs through the 20th. Early bird tickets are available today (August 3rd) at a reduced price. Tickets are available at ThatOldHillside.com
