Conversations with Dave Schaeffer can sometimes swirl around the subject of Chester Park. However, the executive director of Chester Bowl does like to chat about other things from time to time. Silly sketches by Monty Python and music are a couple of good starting points.
Like many Back Tracks guests, Schaeffer's musical beginnings were largely shaped by an older sibling. This led to the purchase of a classic debut album from the 80s and to a first concert by Australian activists. And a guilty pleasure song? Schaeffer will admit no actual guilt but does note that there is a certain juxtaposition to his choice. "A man in his mid-40s to be loving power-pop is an unusual enough thing."
