The week ahead brings three unique art events.

On Thursday, folks can pay a visit to Duluth Pottery in Lincoln Park from 4-7pm for a reception centered around the "Modern Quilt Walkabout" put on by the Lake Superior Modern Quilt Guild. Quilters and quilts will be there alongside Duluth Pottery ceramics. Later in the month, work from the guild will also be on view at Enger Lofts. Keep your eyes open for demonstrations and discussions as well. Regarding the guild, Annie Dugan says, "they’ve been pushing that form of expression and trying to figure out what they can say with that medium.”

Also on Thursday, Annie Dugan will be at the Nease Gallery from 5-6:30pm for an exhibit from a selection of artists who are not necessarily local. Distant Context will highlight artists including Peter Granados from New York. “I will be the medium through which the artist is speaking," says Dugan who had a chance to meet Granados during a recent trip to the East Coast.

Sunday at the Duluth Children’s Museum is the next installment of Create Together. Every month the museum brings in creative thinking leaders for fun sessions. This Sunday from 1-2:30pm Jeff Brown (of BrownKnows Designs) will be leading a session about immersive play spaces. "He's done quite a few exhibitions at the Duluth Children's Museum," says Dugan, "but also all around the country."
