As ever, the local art scene is vibrant and the calendar is full.
This weekend is the Carlton County Fair where you can find pieces by local artists practicing both fine art and craft art. A look around the 4-H building can also yield some fun and creative works.
"Art in Bayfront Park Festival" is a free two-day event this Saturday and Sunday. Over one hundred artists will be in attendance displaying jewelry, painting, photography, metal work, wood work, glass, ceramics and more.
Lizzards Art Gallery highlights and recognizes the work of Terry Millikan who died last December. All the sales of Millikan's work is going toward a special fund for the Duluth Art Institute and the Tweed Museum. Millikan was an artistic connector in the community and an activator for youth involvement with the arts.
