Duluth artist Karen McTavish is celebrating this Saturday with an open studio in honor of National Quilting Day.
Longtime quilter and author, McTavish opened her quilting studio last June across from Chester Creek Cafe on 8th street in Duluth and has been creating new work and teaching others in her warehouse style space.
This is not your grandmothers quilting bee, or is it? This Saturday the studio is open to all from 9am-5pm for an all-day celebration and Scott Lunt's final quilting of this quilt "Fancy Forest," being raffled off to benefit Wildwoods in Duluth. Try your hand at sewing a block or watch their long-arm quilting machine in action. McTavish shares her passion for the art of quilting on this episode of Radio Gallery.
