Radio Gallery 10-30-2013: Mary Plaster

Mary Plaster, a Duluth artist, joins Radio Gallery to discuss her involvement in this years annual All Souls Night. All Souls Night 2013 takes place Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at the Duluth Depot and 8-10 at Sacred Heart Music Center. Dressing in black and skeleton-wear greatly encouraged.

Mary Plaster talks about Al Souls Night in Duluth

Radio Gallery speaks with Mary Plaster, a Duluth artists, about All Souls Night. It is a night to celebrate and share loss and hope. She discusses the importance of this kind of celebration, the work that goes into the aesthetics of the celebration, and the collaborative effort that has gone into planning the event.

This year the organizers have also made the effort to honor Duluth community activist Steve O'Neil who passed away in July.

Former Program Director, Maija Jenson teaches journalism in the Department of Communication at UMD and was a part of KUMD 2008-2019. She hosted a weekly arts program "Radio Gallery." She shares a lifetime of public radio listening, degrees in journalism and art and 20 years of public radio experience with KFAI, WHA, WSUM and KUMD.
