Alex Oberton and Charlie Jacobs met as freshmen at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. In 2024, they started playing together under the name Death Valley Yacht Club, with a sound characterized by intertwining acoustic guitars and close harmonies. Since getting their start playing open mics and on-campus shows, they've branched out to other Twin Ports venues and released their debut album, Dead Flowers, in 2025. They joined us in the studio on September 4, 2026, to talk about their Tuesday residency at Zeitgeist Arts all month and to perform some songs.
