Live from Studio A: Ashe Berton

A smiling person stands in front of a gray wall that says The North in blue letters, with the o in North stylized to look like a compass.

This singer/songwriter wrote a song about moving to Minnesota just days after she landed in Duluth. "Hello Minnesota" is featured on her debut full-length album, Fill My Soul, which came out a few days before she joined us in the studio on June 17, 2026. We talked with Berton about her life as a musician who is also a biologist and adventurer who shares her skiing and sailing trips on social media. Berton told the story of the chance encounter that led to her recording the new album in Montreal with producer Tom Shemer and performed songs from the album. She also talked about her album release show the next night.
