Live from Studio A: Wild Horses

Two men stand in front of a white wall. Above their heads is blue lettering that says The North. The O in North is stylized to look like a compass needle. The man on the left is holding a stand-up bass, the man on the right has a guitar case that says WH standing upright in front of him with his hands on the top of the case.

Since their first show in 2021, Grand Rapids, Minnesota band Wild Horses has steadily grown a following with their rootsy Americana sound. Led by husband and wife Jed and Ariana LaPlant, the group put out its debut album in 2022 and has opened for Willie Nelson and Trampled by Turtles, among others. Now a trio with the addition of Landon Pahl on bass, the band released a single, "Sioux Falls," shortly before Jed and Landon joined us in the studio on July 25, 2025. We talked about the band's evolution and new music in the works, and the two performed as a duo.
