Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Misisipi Mike

A bearded man in a grey tank top and brown corduroys, cowboy hat and sunglasses, holds a guitar while standing in front of a thick line of trees

After a youth spent in Mississippi and most of an adulthood spent in San Francisco, Misisipi Mike Wolf has found a place in the Twin Ports. The musician is keeping busy this summer with regular shows at various venues in Duluth and Superior. Tonight, he's pulling double duty with a show at Earth Rider, then another at Sir Ben's later on.

Mike's personal music journey began near the southern reaches of the Mississippi River where he purchased an album by an artist who lived near the northern part of the same river. While tagging along with his father, Mike's first concert included a memorable volcano on stage. And his guilty pleasure song is an emotional tune about which he has plenty to say. "I can go on for half an hour on this."
