The "rainy season" started living up to its name. With the recent rainfall, Larry Weber has been outdoors and enjoying the emboldened plants. Ferns, fungi, and many other natural sights of summer are becoming more present due to this week's soaking. We're still behind on rainfall, so more passing storms are definitely welcome.
With all of the daylight we'll be getting over the next couple weeks as we slide on past the solstice, animal activity is also on the uptick. Snapping turtles are beginning to lay their eggs and bears have been seen moseying about.
You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
