Happy Earth Day! Eco3 in Duluth continues their Earth Week celebrations today and through the end of the week.
Today, April 22nd, from 9am-noon, Eco3 will be hosting tours of their Urban Farm every half hour at Lake Superior College. "We're just trying to show how we're improving food access," says Bella Pike, the Community Partnership Specialist with Ecolibrium3. "Improving community wellness, bringing people together to learn about fresh vegetables and fruits."
On Thursday, there is an open house for a future Lincoln Park grocery store. With construction almost finalized, Eco3 is looking to welcome neighbors in to have a look and offer thoughts. "For a very long time, Lincoln Park hasn't had a grocery store," says Pike. "We took on that project because we saw a need... We're hoping within the next few months here we'll have it open."
On Friday, the final event for Earth Week is a concert with Sara Thomsen and Peter Mayer at Sacred Heart Music Center. The show begins at 7:30pm and a part of the proceeds from the event will go to Eco3.
Tickets for the concert and more information about all of the events happening during Earth Week with Eco3 can be found on the Ecolibrium3 website.
You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
