This Friday, the coordinated efforts from students at Duluth's Harbor City International School will be on display at the Depot for the second annual Sustainability Summit.

From 3:30-6pm on April 10th, the Great Hall will be filled with tables represented by community organizations to talk about sustainability. Additionally, the event is a clothing swap. "Fast fashion is a horrible problem happening in the world right now," says Aspen, a student at Harbor City. "One of the ways that we can fight against that is reusing the clothes that we have... it's free to bring your clothes [to the event] and it's free to take clothes, so take as much as you want, bring as much as you want."

Organizations that will be at the event include Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, the UMD Environmental Club, and a variety of clubs from Harbor City. Resources from Adopt-A-Drain and Get the Lead Out will also be available. Additionally, the Whole Food Co-op has donated food and snacks for the event.

Wylan, another student coordinator of the event, cites other organizations as inspiration for the summit. "We were really just inspired by different events," says Wylan. "I think a couple organizations that have been in particular inspiring are Youth in Action and... Climate Generation as well.

Information about the event can be found on the Harbor City International School website.
