Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd, but Ecolibrium3, a local organization aiming for equitable and sustainable change, is eying up a full week of events that highlight greener living and environmental care for the community.
Events begin on Friday, April 17th with the Sip and Support event from 5pm-8pm at Clyde Iron Works. "It's a fundraiser for our Eco3 Urban Farm," says Bell Pike, the Community Partnership Specialist with Ecolibrium3. "We are basically just providing an opportunity to come and have fun with us, but also raise money for a good cause."
Saturday morning, the 18th, events start early with a clean-up in Lincoln Park. Groups of volunteers are welcome to come to either Bean & Bear Bagels or Clyde Iron Works (smaller groups to Bean & Bear, groups in double digits should congregate at Clyde) starting at 9am to help with the clean-up.
From 11am-3pm on Saturday is the annual EcoFest. The event is an opportunity to meet community members and local organizations and to get involved with various initiatives and events. Along with information and conversation, attendees will have the chance to bring used books and participate in the book swap as well.
On Monday, April 20th, from noon until 1:30pm, an event focused on Age-Friendly, Energy Smart Homes will be presented at the Eco3 Hub. The gathering is geared toward older adults, realtors, and community professionals.
Earth Week events continue on April 22nd. More information about all of the events happening during Earth Week with Eco3 can be found on the Ecolibrium3 website.
You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
