"Every year the Alworth Peace and Justice series at St. Scholastica follows a particular theme. This year, that theme is home," says Tim Lorek, Director of the Alworth Peace & Justice Series. "It just seems really pertinent and pressing to us this year, given everything that's going on in the world, that we really focus in on home and what home means to us, and our place in the world."
This year's lecture series begins on Thursday, October 30th at 7:30pm at the Mitchell Auditorium on the CSS campus. The first speaker is Dr. Anton Treuer with a presentation called Truth and Reconciliation Begins with Truth: A Conversation About Healing and Home. "[Treuer] is a very well-known historian of Native American history," says Lorek. "He's also really involved in Ojibwe language revitalization programs."
Other speakers over the academic year will also focus on topics related to home. Subjects include citizenship, housing, family and belonging, and migration. All events are at the Mitchell Auditorium and begin at 7:30pm.

You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
