From 4-6pm on Tuesday, April 22nd, Duluthians will gather to celebrate and honor Earth Day.
The event begins at Leif Erickson Park with speakers at 4pm. Leading up to the start will be traditional Ojibwe drumming and a spiritual invocation. Speakers will include representatives from AICHO, the City of Duluth, and more.
Festivities then move along the Lakewalk to Gichi-ode' Akiing where attendees will find a variety of local groups offering information and conversation. "We'll have tables set up from around 20 different non-profit organizations around the area," says Brett Cease, an organizer and member of the Duluth Climate and Energy Network.
And if you're ever in need of guidance, just look for the giant owl. A ten-foot-tall owl puppet will be leading the march.
