Backyard Almanac: Just Dew It

Even as we approach autumn, the temps are staying warm. September 11th hit 84 degrees in the Northland, but these hot days are numbered as we are just a handful of days away from the fall equinox.

This time of the year offers many sights including increasing bird migration, changing leaves, active insects, and plenty of chipmunk activity. Chipmunks do not hibernate, but they do prepare for long days of sleep throughout the winter season.

For Larry Weber, there's no better experience in September than getting out for a look at the early morning dew clinging to spider webs. "I do it every day," says Weber. "There are hundreds of them."

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
