Denise Fosse is the director of development, marketing and communications for Climate Generation and was a part of the delegation that went to COP28 in Dubai last December. Fosse and Luke Moravec discuss progressing past the use of fossil fuels, reparations for smaller countries, and the need for the US to base ideas off of values, not political ties.
One discussion focused on the many smaller nations that depend on the production of fossil fuels to maintain a stable economy. A heated debate took place at COP28 regarding whether or not reparations should be given to these small nations as the world progresses past the need for fossil fuels.
Fosse also noted the need for the US to move beyond political ties and monetary costs to ensure a green future. "[It] is a fool's errand to maintain where we're going because if there's not a viable planet there's nothing to be gained and a lot to be lost by everybody" says Fosse.
