Astro Bob's Backyard Astronomy: Venus Says a Slow Goodbye

Things are constantly coming and going in the cosmos. From our perspective on Earth, Venus is on its way out and a full moon is on its way in.

On July 3rd, the full Buck Moon will be on display. If the skies stay clear for Independence Day, the full moon could couple nicely with a firework spectacle.

Venus has been shining in the western sky for several months, but the planet is beginning to take its leave. As it gets closer to the horizon, it will pass by a few celestial friends. "Mars is near Venus and will be for the next couple of week," says Bob King.

You can hear Astro Bob's Backyard Astronomy every other Tuesday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
