For stargazers looking for clear skies, Bob King has the solution. "You can get a really nice app... called Windy," says King. Th app shows up-to-date cloud maps that will allow people to find cloudless areas that might be just a handful of miles away.
The Flower Moon is rising this Friday, May 5th. "This is a really good full moon," says King, "because it rises about 20 minutes after sunset." With the sun out of the way, the moon should be glowing as it rises at 8:47pm on Friday evening.
Earth is passing through the tail of Halley's Comet making for a possible meteor shower in the early morning of May 6th, though the full moon might offer too much light for a spectacular showing.
Also be on the lookout for Venus, the star cluster M35, the rise of Saturn, and a nighttime passing of the International Space Station.
