This week, art exploration takes us to Superior and St. Paul.
About 2 hours south on I35, new work by Northland artist Jordan Sundberg is on display. At Allianz Field in St. Paul at the Midway Diner is a large-scale landscape that takes viewers through the seasons of Minnesota. "It's a seven by forty-five feet mural," says Annie Dugan. "She's calling it Four Seasons of Pretty Gosh Darn Good." Lakes, farms, animals and more make up the piece.
On Tuesday the 6th of October at the old post office building in Superior, Create Wisconsin is hosting the Superior Creative Industry Summit. "They are looking to see fellow artists, community leaders, elected officials, business owners, civic minded neighbors to share ideas, plan, and really put forth the idea that the creative economy is a driver of Superior," says Dugan. More info can be found online.
Additionally, Springboard For The Arts is taking applications from area artists who are looking for support for their work. More information about grant opportunities can be found on the Springboard For The Arts website.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
