School buses, snowplows, firetrucks, and an appearance by Smokey the Bear. Families can expect all of that and more at this year's Transportation Night happening from 5-6:30pm on Wednesday, September 30th at Denfeld High School.
"The mission behind it is giving kids and families a fun experience," says Jen Jaros, Early Childhood Family Education Coordinator with Duluth Public Schools. "There's so much language and literacy and conversation to be had when looking at the different colors of the vehicles, the size of the vehicles, what do they do, how do they operate."
Along with utility vehicles, families can also expect to see kayaks, 4-wheelers, robotic vehicles, the library van, and food trucks. The Twin Ports Ghostbusters will also have their replica of Ecto-1 at the event. Jaros was also hopeful about getting a helicopter at this year's event, and in the future, she's shooting high as well. "I'm still dreaming about a hot air balloon someday."
