Tina Higgins-Wussow is keeping busy with Chester Creek Bookstore. "I'm just continuing to clean and bring in more books, thousands and thousands of more books have ended up on the shelf." Along with books, the store now houses The Rainbow Room for those seeking vintage clothing. "A lot of people come in for that, and then discover there's a bookstore there," says Tina. "That's been a really great partnership."
The location at 1333 E Superior Street has taken on some changes since Higgins-Wussow took the lead, including the Summer Bash celebration, happening this year on Saturday, August 8th from 11am-5pm. The event will include art, vintage vendors, dancing, tarot, henna, and a lot of music. Charlie Parr headlines an afternoon of popular local music acts.
As for the bookstore, Tina is always brainstorming and is already thinking about future projects. "I'm building a rare book area on the altar," says Tina. "Next year when you come in, that's going to the be where the best of the best is." More information about Chester Creek Bookstore can be found on their website. Info about the Summer Bash is being highlighted frequently on their Facebook page.
