Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Christine Winkler

Strikepoint

For the past few years, Christine Winker has been contributing to Strikepoint, a local handbell choir. The group is off to Scotland in the coming weeks to attend the International Handbell Symposium. Before crossing the pond, Strikepoint is performing on Friday, July 24th at First United Methodist Church (the Coppertop) in Duluth for a Bon Voyage concert. The music begins at 7pm and free will donations are being accepted.

Christine's personal music history began with a nasty papercut delivered while unpacking her first album. Her first concert involved an attempt at getting a phone call from a teen heartthrob. And her guilty pleasure song is very current - Strikepoint will be playing a handbell version of it at their upcoming concert. "It makes you want to dance, it makes you want to jump around, and it makes you want to save the world from the demons."

You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
