Legendary musician Judy Collins, the voice behind such memorable recordings like Send in the Clowns, Both Sides Now, and Amazing Grace, will be performing at Big Top Chautauqua on Friday, July 24th in Bayfield, Wisconsin. After a nearly seven decade-long career that includes a long list of notable collaborations, countless memorable performances, and one exciting explosion on The Muppet Show, Judy, at the age of 87, is now embarking on her farewell tour. Tickets to the show on the 24th can be found on the Big Top Chautauqua website.
Looking back at her personal music history, Judy notes that her first album was purchased while working at a resort in her home state of Colorado. Her first live concert experience was difficult to pin down, but it was likely one of the many great songwriters who used to play in Greenwich Village. And her guilty pleasure song goes back further than all of them with a 1945 track from Jo Stafford. "It's just so distant and wonderful."
You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
