Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Nur-D

Nur-D standing in front of a purple background. Wearing purple-lensed, circle shaped sunglasses. The sunglasses are slightly lower on his nose, while he is looking at the camera over the sunglasses. He is wearing a black shirt underneath a colorful patterned button up.
Nur-D

On Thursday, June 25th, Nur-D will bring his unique hip-hop sounds to the Earth Rider Festival stage for Mentor North's Summerfest. Since 2018, the Twin Cities-based musician has been recording and performing for a growing number of fans. Beyond music, Nur-D can be found enjoying comic books, professional wrestling, and playing the role of Dungeon Master for many a D&D game. More information about Nur-D's music can be found on his website.

Digging into his music history, Nur-D admits that he ran through the store to nab a copy of the soundtrack that was his first album purchase. The rotunda at the Mall of America was the site for his first live concert experience, which featured a young Nickelodeon star. And his guilty pleasure song is one that gets blared when he's in a hurry - an epic and heroic hurry. "I don't think it's weird, but I feel like other people would think it's weird."

You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
