Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Patrick Russell

Lyric Opera of the North

Patrick Russell is a composer, piano teacher, and the conductor for Lyric Opera of the North (LOON). On June 12th and 14th, LOON presents A Little Night Music. For Patrick, this is a production that he's wanted to bring to area audiences for almost two decades. Tickets and information for the show can be found on the Lyric Opera of the North website.

Although he's not entirely sure it was his first album purchase, his "spiritual" first album was a mid-90s classic. His first concert experience was a collection of opera scenes. And for his guilty pleasure song, it's back to the 90s with an artist that couldn't be too much further from opera. "It's a banger."

You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
